James Prendergast

James Prendergast was born and raised in a beach suburb of Los Angeles where he met and married his high-school sweetheart, McKenna. James and McKenna have two children together, Blakely (2) and Nash (0). Some of the Prendergast’s favorite things are family bike rides, long road trips anywhere there’s an ocean, and putting more stamps on their passport. James is a graduate of the Master’s Seminary having completed the entire program through the distance location at Grace Church of the Valley (GCV).
Being saved as a teenager, James has a great passion to see young people encounter the Biblical Jesus and to follow Him wholeheartedly. For this reason, it has been the privilege of his life to serve the youth of GCV for nearly 5 years, most recently as the Director of Next Gen Ministries. Over the course of those years, James has had the joy of preaching verse by verse through Philippians, 1 John, the Sermon on the Mount, Jonah, and 1 Peter.
James’ prayer for GCV is that followers of Christ of all ages would live out Psalm 11:16 as they behold the goodness of Jesus day by day: “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
