Men of Grace exists to encourage and raise up godly men at Grace Church of the Valley, equipping them for the work of ministry by applying the exhortation 2 Timothy 2:2 to take "what you have heard in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
Men of Grace - 1 Timothy
When: Wednesdays, 6:00 am, beginning August 16
Where: Generations Building, Room 203
Men, come and join us to examine what a godly man’s life involves as we study the book of 1 Timothy together. We will see that a godly man adheres to a genuine faith, true doctrine and results in changed lives, godly behavior, and church unity. Learn how to wage a good warfare and fight the good fight of the faith by identifying and avoiding a false faith, ungodly character, and worldly goals.
Golf & Shoot - Fall Fellowship Event
When: Saturday, October 14, 10:00 am
Where: Brent Jacksons Home (39599 Rd. 24, Kingsburg, CA 93631)
We will start the day at 10:00 am at Brent Jackson’s for a time of teaching, fellowship, and lunch. Following lunch you can choose to participate in golfing or skeet shooting. Invite a friend or bring your son and sign up at graceofthevalley.org/men. The cost for lunch is $10; shooting or golf will be $50.
Men of Grace - The Believers' Walk
When: Wednesdays, 6:00 am, beginning October 18
Where: Generations Building, Room 203
As believers we often talk about our walk with God, but what do we mean by that? The Old Testament saint “Enoch walked with God and was not for God took him” (Genesis 5:34). We are called to walk by faith, in love, in light, and in wisdom. At Men of Grace we will be unpacking what it means to walk with Christ on a daily basis. We will explore together nine New Testament passages with the goal of growing closer to the Lord and living lives worthy of the Gospel.
Spiritual Leadership Training
Christian leadership in the home, workplace, and church. The church will only rise to the spiritual maturity and level of its leaders; therefore, it is critical we train current and future godly leaders for this and the next generation of gospel growth. The structure of this course will provide a broad-based leadership training with an emphasis on equipping men to be effective shepherds and leaders of others.
S.L.T. requires a one-year commitment and covers three distinct modules over three years. There is an in-class time of 27.5 hours and out-of-class reading and project commitment of approximately 70 hours spread over 11 months, followed by a yearly graduation.
Module One • The Character of a Leader: Recognize the Call
This year is a process of self confrontation as men examine their own character before the Lord. This is by far the most important aspect of godly spiritual leadership as seen in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Click here to read the full philosophy and purpose. SLT will meet on the fourth Saturday of every month from 6:00 am to 8:30 am in the Generations Building, Room 203. Submit an application by clicking the button below.
