The Central Valley Orphan Care Summit is open to everyone at any stage–whether you have adopted children, are currently fostering, are waiting to adopt, or are merely wanting to know more. This summit promises to have something for everyone. God is doing big things in the Central Valley, and this day will not only celebrate but educate on what is happing within the families, agencies, and churches in Central California. This is an opportunity to be equipped on your personal journey in orphan care as well as connect with other people who are on the same path. There will be agencies, therapists, and fundraising ideas avaialable for you to browse and consult with.

The keynote speakers are Irene and Domingo Garcia. Over the past 45 years, the Garcias have birthed, fostered, or adopted 32 children. Their story holds difficult endings as well as promising new beginnings. Irene has written a book, Rich in Love, and the Garcias have spoken at churches, ministries, and conferences all across the country.

Alongside the keynote speakers, there will be a panel you can interact with and several breakout sessions to choose from taught by professionals, pastors, and experienced adoptive parents. Sessions include:

  • Helping Others Who Foster and Adopt
  • Foster Care and Adoption 101
  • Avoiding the Messiah Complex
  • Life Books
  • Behavioral Help
  • Trauma and the Brain
  • Becoming a Faithful Father
