Grace Church of the Valley > River of Life 2017

Purpose

River of Life (ROL) is a ministry of Grace Church of the Valley to bring high school students together for a time of worship and fellowship through games, music, teaching, and refreshments on the King's River.

Theme: "Overflow"

“Overflow” – 1 Timothy 1:14 “...and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”

The greatest need anyone has is that they would come in to a right relationship with Jesus Christ–when that happens the change is incredible! The Apostle Paul understood and felt this deeply as he expressed it in the beginning of his letter to Timothy (1:12-17). Before coming to Christ he says he was a “blasphemer” and “opponent” of the things of God, and the greatest of sinners. But God was merciful to him, forgiving him of his former life, and his grace “overflowed” to Paul in the Person of Jesus Christ. This renewed life launched Paul into a life of service to the King so as to bring other sinners back to God for his “honor and glory.” We not only share Paul’s heart as Christians, but our desire is that River of Life would be a place where God displays the wonders of Jesus’ grace to sinners.

In contrast to the drought of the past few years, this year we have watched the King’s River overflow toward houses and golf courses with plenty of fresh water from the northern lakes and mountains. There is no stopping the rising river and the overflowing water! And just like the river overflows into our lives, our prayer is the Lord would use His Spirit and His Word to prick the hearts of young people in the Central Valley and that they would know the unstoppable, overflowing grace, faith, and love found only in Jesus Christ.

Schedule and Directions

River of Life is meeting on four Friday nights over the summer: June 23, June 30, July 7, and July 14 from 6-10pm. We are meeting at Andy & Becky Muxlow's house: 3598 Avenue 408 Kingsburg, CA 93631 (directions from Kingsburg).
