The goal of Grace Church of the Valley is to help people know who God is and what he has done by gaining a deeper understanding on his Word, the Bible. The following is a simple summary of the Good News message (the Gospel) of the Bible. If you have any questions or would like to talk to someone, please don't hesitate to contact us!

GOD | Who He Is

There is a God and he deserves to be glorified.
"The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth...he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth...that they should seek God."
- Acts 17:24–27

The Bible explains that God created us and sustains us and therefore has the right to absolute authority over our lives. He made us in his image so that we would seek to know him and glorify him with our lives (love him, honor him, obey him, and serve him).

MAN | Our Problem

Man refuses to glorify God and deserves to be punished.
"The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God....None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God....for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...the wages of sin is death."
- Psalm 14:1; Romans 3:11, 23; 6:23

Instead of seeking to know and glorify God, we naturally rebel against his authority over us and choose to live our own way. The Bible says that failing to honor and obey God is sin. The just penalty for our sin is death; not just physical death, but eternal separation from God in Hell.

JESUS | God's Solution

Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead so we can be saved.
"For while we were still weak...God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God."
- Romans 5:6, 8, 9

Because of his great love, God has provided a way for us to be rescued from Hell. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin. Jesus endured the punishment that we deserve and rose again to prove that God's wrath had been satisfied and God's justice had been served, and that forgiveness and eternal life had been secured for all those who would repent and believe.

YOU | The Response

The command to repent and believe in Jesus Christ must be obeyed.
"Seek the Lord while he may be found...Let the wicked forsake his way...and let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him...Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."
- Isaiah 55:6, 7; John 3:36

God simply requires us to turn from our sinful rebellion against him and trust in the death and resurrection of his Son as the only way to be reconciled to him. We must admit we are sinners who are separated from God, believe that we are forgiven through faith alone in the finished work of Christ, and commit our entire life to obey him as our Savior and Lord.

If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, our greatest desire is to share with you what it means to be a Christian and how to become one. If you have already committed your life to follow Jesus Christ, then our desire is to help you develop a deeper, more intimate relationship with him.
