Lucio was born in Rome, Italy, in 1966 and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in November 1990, at age 24, after a long period of personal crises. He was baptized in 1993 in the Berea Independent Gospel Church of Rome. Lucio has been married to Cristina since August 1998. They have three children: Rebecca, Davide, and Mattia.
Growing under the elders’ teaching, Lucio started serving in the church through evangelism. In 1994, the Lord called him for a period of further biblical training. First, he attended the “School of Christian Living” (SVC) for an intensive ten-week program in 1994. In 1996, he started attending “Istituto Biblico Evangelico Italiano” (IBEI) where he graduated in 1999. From 1999 to July 2005 he served full-time in the Berea church in Rome as youth pastor and pastor of outreach ministry, as well as providing discipleship and biblical counseling. He also taught and preached regularly in the church. From 2003 to 2005 he served as one of the elders of the church in Rome and from 2001 to 2005 he wrote for the singles magazine, Punti Fermi. For many years Lucio and Cristina have also been involved in the ministry at the Institute of Isola del Gran Sasso (IBEIsola) by teaching, preaching, and helping out with the camps and conferences for children, youth, and families. Beginning in August 2005 Lucio was enrolled at The Master’s Seminary, where he earned his Masters of Divinity. After completing his studies, Lucio and his family returned to Rome to plant a new church and serve in the ministry of the Italian Theological Academy.
