Music plays a vital part in the worship and body life here at Grace Church of the Valley. More than just singing the most popular Christian songs or the best catchy tunes out there, we seek to use music that helps people sing biblical truth and here’s why.

  1. We sing because we want to respond to who God is and what he has done. The best way to do that is to find songs that are biblically accurate so that our worship songs are informed with truth about God instead of being vague and unclear.
  2. We sing because we want to prepare our hearts to hear God’s Word. One of the most important ways we worship together is by hearing the clear teaching of God’s Word. Instead of music competing with preaching, we want our singing to lead us into our time together in God’s Word.
  3. We sing because we want to encourage and admonish believers around us. Colossians 3:16 reads, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” When you sing biblical truth, those around you can be taught and admonished in all wisdom and that helps build up the Body of Christ!

As you worship with us at GCV, think about why we sing these particular words. Do you believe what they say about God and about you? If so, then sing with all your heart!
